The upgrade of the intermediate power amplifier of the TRIUMF 520 MeV Cyclotron's RF system
Bibliographic record
Abstract
In this publication, we discuss the recent upgrade of the intermediate power amplifier (IPA) of the 520 MeV Cyclotron's RF system. The main goal of this upgrade was to separate first and second stages of the IPA, and thus achieve a modular configuration. A novel neutralization circuit for the second stage was designed, simulated, fabricated and tested with maximal CW power of up to 65 kW. We discuss the neutralization tuning, input matching processes and the results of the high-power tests. The high-power measurements indicated that the attained output power is higher than 65 kW, the power gain is 20 dB, input VSWR is less than 1.3, the phase shift is less than two degrees in the operational power range of 20-35 kW. Finally, the Power-Added-Efficiency (PAE) reached 68% at the operating frequency of 23.06 MHz. Currently, the new IPA is in stable operation as a part of 520 MeV Cyclotron's RF system.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
