Cet article contribue à la réflexion sur la notion de rapport à l’écrit (RÉ) en contexte de langue seconde auprès d’élèves immigrants allophones en proposant la dénomination de RÉ+. Il s’appuie sur une recherche effectuée au Québec visant à observer les effets de la production de textes identitaires plurilingues sur le RÉ+ de huit élèves immigrants allophones en situation de grand retard scolaire en classe d’accueil au secondaire (groupe expérimental: n=4; groupe contrôle: n=4). Des entretiens individuels et des observations participantes ont permis de décrire le RÉ+ des participants et de dégager les effets de l’approche nouvelle mise en place qui, contrairement aux pratiques traditionnelles d’enseignement observées dans le groupe contrôle, est liée au développement d’un RÉ+ aux connotations plus positives se traduisant entre autres par un engagement plus marqué des élèves.
