Abstract
La conferencia comienza con el relato de cómo se constituye la Confederación de Repositorios de Acceso Abierto (COAR) y sus actividades principales, para luego desplegar una parte dedicada al sistema internacional y tradicional de publicaciones científicas y sus defectos, y una segunda parte referida a las propuestas desde los repositorios de acceso abierto para cambiar su rol, generando una intervención en el sistema de comunicación científica.
