Au Québec, environ 20 % de toutes les infractions à caractère sexuel déclarées à la police sont perpétrées par des adolescents. Le nombre de délits sexuels serait beaucoup plus élevé chez les jeunes âgés de 12 à 17 ans que chez les hommes adultes : respectivement 159 et 70 pour 100 000 habitants (Ministère de la Sécurité publique, 2004).
