Abstract
Ce texte analyse la place de l’islam en France et en Europe. Il distingue ses formes pacifiques et ses tendances extrémistes et meurtrières. Il soutient que l’islam devrait avoir les mêmes droits et les mêmes devoirs que les religions chrétiennes, en France et dans l’Union européenne (UE). Il considère que les explications de l’extrémisme islamiste par les conditions socio-économiques locales, par les séquelles de la colonisation, ou par l’islam, sont complémentaires et ne s’excluent pas mutuellement. L’extrémisme islamiste est à la fois exogène et endogène à la France et à l’UE. Il y a beaucoup à faire en matière de dés-endoctrinement et le système carcéral est inadapté, particulièrement en France. La collaboration de tous les échelons de l’État avec la société civile est requise, dans une démocratie participative repensée et élargie.
