Abstract
Partant de l'idee que l'ALENA a inscrit dans l'espace et dans les societes des trois partenaires (Canada, Etats-Unis, Mexique) des donnees qui paraissent durables et qui vont bien au-dela des simples aspects commerciaux, la contribution evoque les critiques de fond qu'il a suscitees et les reticences qui se sont clairement exprimees sur le plan politique - reticences qui concernent egalement le projet de Zone de libre-echange des Ameriques qui aurait des implications profondes pour l'ensemble du continent. Dans ce contexte, les enjeux geopolitiques de l'integration regionale et les difficultes de l'entreprise sont analyses.
