This article highlights the Lakeview Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in the Region of Peel, Ontario, Canada. The WTP combines ozone and biologically active carbon (BAC) pretreatment with immersed ultrafiltration (UF) membranes in one of the most technologically advanced municipal water facilities. This article discusses the factors that influenced the expansion of the conventional treatment plant with advanced treatment technology.
