Abstract

O objetivo deste artigo é apontar caminhos teóricos que relacionem a ideologia defensiva da virilidade enquanto uma questão de gênero e o impacto que essa dinâmica tem nos trabalhadores homens dentro da perspectiva da psicodinâmica do trabalho. Caracterizado como valente, destemido, corajoso e herói, o homem, ao longo da história, defende uma imagem viril para ser valorizado pelo coletivo em diferentes espaços em que atua. No contexto do trabalho, estudos mostram que os homens tendem a negar o sofrimento decorrente da falência das estratégias de mediação em nome de uma honra viril. Por meio de apontamentos resultantes de diferentes estudos, concluímos que a psicodinâmica da defesa da virilidade adotada pelos trabalhadores homens pode agravar o adoecimento dos mesmos.
