Abstract
Cet article s’intéresse à la trajectoire de quatre auteures qui ont commenté la scène politique canadienne dans les années 1960 : Solange Chaput-Rolland, Marie-Blanche Fontaine, Gwethalyn Graham et Gertrude Laing. À travers l’analyse d’un corpus littéraire formé de quatre de leurs ouvrages, il souhaite restituer leurs conceptions du Canada à une époque où les possibilités de refondation constitutionnelle semblaient prometteuses. L’univers du commentaire politique étant majoritairement masculin, leur entrée dans ce milieu ne se fera pas sans heurts. L’étude des obstacles rencontrés par ces femmes et de leurs stratégies pour les surmonter permet en partie d’expliquer pourquoi certains discours sont confinés aux marges de l’espace public.
