Abstract
In 1980, Richard Fung helped found Gay Asians Toronto and in 1984 he produced the interview-based documentary Orientations: Lesbian and Gay Asians. In this short article, he reflects on the shifts and continuities in identities, issues and political and social conditions from the 1980s to today. How have the AIDS crisis, the fulfillment of gay rights demands, increased physical mobility and the triumph of neoliberalism helped shape how we see ourselves and how we come together as LGBTQI Asian Canadians?
