Cet article analyse les changements effectués par les kibboutzim novateurs par rapport aux principes fondateurs du kibboutz afin de surmonter les dangers de disparition. Les avantages découlant de ces mesures radicales sont devenus rapidement tangibles et ont encouragé leur propagation de kibboutz en kibboutz où elles se sont concrétisées à chaque fois dans des configurations particulières. La question est de savoir si cette évolution pourra déboucher sur un horizon kibboutzique nouveau ou sur la fin de ce que l’on pourrait encore appeler kibboutz. Une révolution destinée à faire tabula rasa du passé ou, au contraire, qui pourrait, sous de nouvelles formes, rester fidèle à certains de ses codes fondateurs ?
