Abstract
Le syntagme « communication publique » désigne un domaine d’études s’intéressant aux manifestations multiples et variables de la parole publique. Le présent article examine plusieurs présupposés partagés par les recherches en communication publique, dans l’idée d’évaluer leur adéquation avec l’intention de donner une intelligibilité politique à ces phénomènes communicationnels. À la lumière de la pensée politique d’Antonio Gramsci, les auteurs analysent dans quelle mesure ces présupposés permettent de penser la compénétration des modalités coercitive et discursive du pouvoir politique, les antagonismes irréductibles et indécidables entre les groupes sociaux, mais aussi les articulations entre la société civile et la société politique.
