À rebours des politiques indigénistes, ce manifeste appelle à la résistance/rexistence de tous les indigènes du Brésil, qu’ils soient indiens ou non, de tous les pauvres et opprimés natifs de cette terre qui en ont été lentement et sûrement dépossédés par l’État pour en faire des « citoyens » assujetis, exploités, surveillés, assistés. Car pour l’auteur, appartenir à la terre au lieu d’en être propriétaire est ce qui définit l’indigène. Alors, le processus de brésilianisation, qui a commencé par la « désindinisation » des Indiens, n’a eu de cesse de séparer tous les indigènes de leur relation organique à la terre, le sol d’un baraquement de favela ou le jardin d’une arrière-cour, pour en faire des travailleurs ou des soldats. C’est pourquoi la lutte des Indiens est celle de tous les indigènes brésiliens, qu’ils soient pauvres, blancs, noirs, métis, LGBT ou femmes.
