Abstract
The history leading to the recent revolutionary discovery of superconductivity in a simple molecular solid of hydrogen sulfide with an unprecedentedly high critical temperature of 200K when compressed at 200 GPa is described. Several proposals on the structure of this novel material are reviewed, which discuss the possible origin of the superconducting behavior.
