L''etude ethnographique et les analyses presentees dans cette these concernent le travail de teleoperateur en central telephonique, une activite salariee, non qualifiee et souvent temporaire, qui se situe dans la nebuleuse des emplois precaires. Cette these s''appuie sur une enquete ethnographique menee dans deux entreprises et une fondation, dont les centraux sont situes a Montreal. A l''issue de notre recherche nous avons mis a jour trois portraits types de teleoperateurs en centre d''appels. Cette these met a jour les manieres dont ces travailleurs mettent a distance leur activite, ainsi que les ruses dont ils usent afin d''entretenir un rapport positif au travail et d''en supporter les conditions.
