Abstract
Summary: The Contes de mon iglou by Maurice Maytayer is one of the very few collections of Inuit tales available in French, and perhaps the most unique. By applying Vladimir Propp's narratological model, the author tries to define their meaning and perceive their relationship with other mythological traditions. The Inuit culture, still misunderstood or underestimated, should be considered an important component of the Canadian historical heritage. Resume: Les Contes de mon iglou de Maurice Metayer constituent l'un des rares recueils de contes inuit disponibles en francais. Par le recours au modele d'analvse du conte folklorique de Vladimir Propp, l'auteur tente de cerner le reseau de significations symboliques qui se degage d'une serie de recits en apparence disparates et ce, avec le souci pedagogique de faire comprendre un recueil unique en son genre.
