Abstract
Siguiendo los planteamientos de Judith Butler (re-significación), Damien Lagauzière (sadomasoquismo) y Cathy Caruth (trauma), y apoyándome en varias declaraciones de la escritora puertorriqueña Mayra Santos-Febres, me acerco al ritual sadomasoquista que, en su novela Fe en disfraz (2009), funciona como parodia y espacio de re-significación de los esquemas de comportamientos de dominación y sumisión anclados en el pasado esclavista de la isla y del trauma que, según asume la autora, origina y subsiste de tal jerarquía.
