Abstract
L’auteur présente « quelques réflexions » autour du thème de la démocratie locale, principalement au sujet des conditions d’exercice de la démocratie. Parmi ces conditions mentionnons celle d’un espace pertinent défini non pas uniquement en terme géographique mais également en termes social et culturel. Mentionnons aussi les « précautions formelles » relatives à la diffusion de l’information, par exemple, ou encore au mode de relations entre les associations et les pouvoirs publics locaux. Mentionnons enfin celle de la nécessité de poursuivre une interrogation fondamentale sur la légitimité du pouvoir. Si d’emblée le local apparaît un lieu privilégié pour l’exercice de la démocratie, les choses ne vont pas toujours de soi. Plusieurs « menaces » demeurent sans cesse à surmonter!
