Abstract
Les fusionnements de grandes firmes multinationales et la prolifération des sommets sur la mondialisation traduisent l’intensification du monopole corporatif et du droit commercial international. L’auteur analyse ces tendances dans les contextes canadien et mexicain depuis les débuts de l’Accord de libre-échange en 1989 puis de l’ALÉNA en 1994, pour démontrer que les ententes commerciales ont ébranlé l’industrie cinématographique mexicaine et transformé profondément les politiques culturelles et l’industrie du film au Canada. À la lumière des recherches de Bruno Latour, l’auteur explique que les destins respectifs des cinémas canadiens et mexicains sous l’ALÉNA convergent autant qu’ils divergent.
