Plusieurs compagnies minières au canada investissent dans le domaine de communication sans fils afin d’assurer la sécurité des mineurs et la communication entre ces derniers et le centre d’exploitation, augmenter la production et le contrôle automatique des machines. Cependant, la mine souterraine est un environnement complexe dont les galeries ont une géométrie non uniforme. Ceci entraine des réflexions multiples qui affectent le signal radio. \nPour éviter ce problème, on propose l’utilisation de l’antenne patch à polarisation circulaire qui a retenu toute notre attention. En effet cette dernière présente des avantages prometteurs tels que; l’augmentation du débit en utilisant le sens de polarisation sur le même canal de propagation et l'augmentation des chances d'avoir une bonne liaison dans un système de communication perturbé par des défauts de polarisation, des réflexions multiples dues à des obstacles et les parois non uniformes dans une galerie minière. \nLe travail présenté dans ce mémoire consiste à étudier la caractérisation d’un canal minier souterrain en utilisant des antennes patch à polarisation circulaire qui fonctionnent à une fréquence de 2,4 GHz, ainsi que, déterminer les performances des systèmes de communication SISO (Single Input Single Output) et MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output). \nPour réaliser cette étude, des séries de mesures ont été effectuées dans la mine citée de l’Or au niveau 90 mètres (sous-sol), pour une visibilité directe (LOS) en utilisant des antennes patch à polarisation circulaire et des antennes patch à polarisation rectiligne pour les techniques SISO et MIMO.
