Abstract
Notre intention, dans ce papier introductif, est de préciser les contextes universitaires et les approches pédagogiques sous-jacentes dans lesquels les travaux en formation en ligne sont engagés et l’influence de ces contextes sur ces mêmes travaux. Ce positionnement devrait faciliter la lecture, l’interprétation et la compréhension des articles de ce numéro spécial voire de s’assurer, par la même occasion, de l’intelligibilité du discours actuel sur la formation à distance. Nous voulons rendre accessible les contributions à ce numéro aux deux cultures francophones universitaires principalement concernées, la France et le Québec, où l’expérience de la formation à distance et, également, l’usage des technologies de l’information et de la communication en éducation nous apparaissent marquées par des différences significatives.
