Abstract
Ce texte met en lumière les effets de circularité et de contamination entre pratique diaristique et pratique journalistique chez la femme de lettres canadienne-française Michelle Le Normand. Il s’emploie à retracer les mouvements d’écriture entre deux supports, le journal intime et le périodique, vus ici autant comme des laboratoires d’écriture que comme les jalons d’une œuvre faite d’échos, de renvois et de palimpsestes. Ces aller retours entre « les journaux » de Michelle Le Normand conduisent à analyser la transformation du récit du journal intime, fondé sur l’immédiateté et le tâtonnement énonciatif, en matière autobiographique, soit en une reconstruction et un filtrage des souvenirs de l’écrivaine. En découle une réflexion sur ce que Christine Planté nomme l’« imaginaire générique » en vigueur dans la première moitié du XXe siècle.
