Abstract

Two Labrador Retrievers presented with a similar history of sudden-onset, unilateral exophthalmos. Advanced imaging diagnostics showed similar findings; however their final diagnoses differed markedly. The first case was an 8-year-old, male-neutered dog who was diagnosed with bilateral zygomatic sialadenitis, worse on the left and subtly present on the right. The second case was a 1-year-old female-entire, subsequently diagnosed with acquired coagulopathy. Both cases responded to medical management. These cases emphasise the range of conditions that need to be considered when presented with a case of exophthalmos.
