Faire de la musique un outil d’intelligibilité anthropologique, telle est l’ambition de ce séminaire que Denis Laborde porte depuis une vingtaine d’années à l’EHESS. Ambiance campus international. Multilingue, studieux et bon enfant, retardataires adossés aux fenêtres, ou assis à même le sol: biotope solidaire, participatif et portes ouvertes. À mesure de ses vingt années d’existence, se croisent ici des opérateurs culturels et des administrateurs, des philosophes d’inspiration analytique, des sociologues, des compositeurs, des musicologues, des artistes inclassables, des ethnomusicologues, des ethnologues, des géographes, des architectes, des juristes, tous réunis autour d’un thème en commun érigé en outil de connaissance, l’anthropologie de la musique.Denis Laborde trace l’histoire intellectuelle de ce séminaire. Elle mène d’une ethnologie des musiques de tradition orale aux politiques d’urbanisme qui font aujourd’hui de la musique un catalyseur de convivialité, en passant par des questions d’ontologies musiciennes.
