Abstract
La romancière mauricienne Ananda Devi contribue avec son esthétique singulière du « para-naturel » à l’éclatement des imaginaires, à la redéfinition identitaire et au renouveau postcolonial dans la littérature de l’océan Indien. Si son univers fictionnel avec ses étranges intrigues et ses figures hybrides, ‘anormales’ et monstrueuses s’avère souvent hermétique pour le lecteur, s’en dégagent des réflexions puissantes sur les complexités sociales, éthiques et artistiques du monde contemporain. Le présent article propose une discussion critique du travail de Devi et une analyse de son roman La vie de Joséphin le fou (2003) pour interroger la signification multiple de ces représentations déréalisées originales et de ses principaux tropes.
