Memoire presente a la Faculte des etudes superieures de l'Universite Laval dans le cadre du programme de maitrise en Microbiologie-Immunologie pour l'obtention du grade de Maitre es sciences (M. Sc.)dans le departement de biologie medicale de la faculte de medecine de l'universite Laval, Quebec, Canada, 2009.Le but de cette etude est d'analyser les relations mutuelles de la co-infection VIH 1/Trypanosoma cruzi dans un modele de cellules de type microglial derivees de monocytes humains. Un modele de co-infection de MDMi par le T. cruzi et le VIH-1 a ete etabli. Le T. cruzi peut etre inhibe par la co-infection T.cruzi/VIH-1 dans les MDMi : nos resultats indiquent que l'infection par le VIH-1 conduit a une reduction de l'entree et de la multiplication du T. cruzi dans les MDMi. De son cote, l'infection par le T. cruzi, aussi bien que ses facteurs solubles, semble exercer une forte inhibition de l'entree, l'expression et la replication du VIH-1 dans ces cellules. Ces resultats sont en accord avec les rares etudes effectuees sur le sujet. De plus, nos resultats montrent qu'une co-entree dans la meme cellule n'est pas necessaire a l'inhibition mutuelle exercee par ces deux pathogenes.
