Abstract

Si la culture et la ville sont intrinsèquement liées et leurs conjugaisons bien souvent étudiées par les spécialistes de l’un ou de l’autre de ces domaines d’étude, nous proposons dans cet article d’interroger plus spécifiquement les rapports entre art et ville, afin de souligner la complexité et l’inhérente ambiguïté qui découlent de l’imbrication de stratégies et de logiques d’acteurs différenciées. Nous nous appuierons sur l’analyse de projets et d’événements conduits à Bordeaux et à Québec, pour décrypter l’instrumentalisation de l’art par et dans la ville, tout en proposant une réflexion sur le rôle et la place de l’art et des artistes dans la construction d’espaces d’expression collective.
