La distinction entre diplômés et non-diplômés est-elle encore pertinente dans un contexte où certains diplômes n’assurent plus qu’un bien mince avantage à leurs titulaires, tandis que les conditions d’insertion professionnelle de ces derniers et celles des non-diplômés se rapprochent ? La situation française actuelle incite à poser la question. Nous l’abordons, dans le cadre de cet article, en prenant appui sur des données statistiques issues des enquêtes Génération réalisées par le CEREQ et sur des enquêtes qualitatives, par entretien, auprès de jeunes récemment sortis du système de formation initiale. Leur vif désir de travailler ne permet plus toujours à ces jeunes d’accéder facilement à l’emploi durable.
