Abstract
En partant d’un constat de faits sociaux encore trop souvent marqués par l’injustice, la marginalisation et l’exclusion des minorités en contexte canadien et nord-américain, ce texte propose une réflexion critique sur les concepts de multi-, inter-, et trans- culturalisme, et plus particulièrement sur les enjeux éthiques liés à la diversité culturelle en contexte canadien. Les auteurs font appel à la philosophie morale de Levinas ainsi qu’à l’anthropologie et aux disciplines connexes pour mettre l’accent sur la responsabilité individuelle et sociale en vue d’arrimer les perspectives en matière de diversité culturelle à un axe d’éthique de la relation à Autrui. À l’aide d’exemples de recherches et d’observations sur l’ethnocentrisme et la discrimination, les auteurs établissent la nécessité de penser et panser la transculturalité selon une perspective éthique de responsabilité.
