Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

We explore the possibility that the fast radio bursts (FRBs) are powered by magnetic reconnection in magnetars, triggered by axion quark nugget (AQN) dark matter. In this model, the magnetic reconnection is ignited by the shock wave which develops when the nuggets' Mach number $M\ensuremath{\gg}1$. These shock waves generate very strong and very short impulses expressed in terms of pressure $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}p/p\ensuremath{\sim}{M}^{2}$ and temperature $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}T/T\ensuremath{\sim}{M}^{2}$ in the vicinity of (would be) magnetic reconnection area. We find that the proposed mechanism produces a coherent emission which is consistent with current data, in particular the FRB energy requirements, the observed energy distribution, the frequency range, and the burst duration. Our model allows us to propose additional tests which future data will be able to challenge.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
