Abstract
Les Adieux à la reine de Chantal Thomas (2002) et L’Enfant léopard de Daniel Picouly (1999) se focalisent sur quelques heures ou quelques jours de la Révolution : en 1789 ou bien 1794. Les deux romans écartent le roi et, avec lui, la grande Histoire des historiens, pour faire entendre certains silences du passé : les relations amoureuses entre femmes, la présence de noirs et de métis dans la société française. Dans la retenue et le raffinement stylistique ou dans l’outrance du feuilleton, dans la reconstitution minutieuse ou dans l’anachronisme, ils transforment notre image de l’événement révolutionnaire pour donner la parole à des minorités refoulées.
