Abstract
La mise en cartes et la mise en histoires du territoire constituent deux champs symboliques stratégiques investis par les peuples autochtones pour défendre ou maintenir des droits à l’intérieur des États et vis-à-vis d’acteurs tiers, et pour affirmer des imaginaires et des représentations territoriales propres. Ces processus de réappropriation du territoire seront analysés dans une perspective comparative à l’échelle des Amériques, en se fondant principalement sur des exemples situés au Chili, en Bolivie et au Canada, tirés de l’expérience de recherche de l’auteure. L’accent sera mis sur les enjeux culturels, épistémologiques et politiques de l’information géographique et des narrations historiques produites par les peuples autochtones, y compris leurs implications pour les chercheurs travaillant avec des organisations et des communautés autochtones.
