Abstract
Chemistry is about overcoming barriers to achieve new bond synthesis. Si−H bond activation is provided by B(C6F5)3 which is followed by cleavage by a wide range of oxygen nucleophiles leading to new siloxane structures. It's easy to surmount the activation energy barrier, like climbing the ice at Tiffany Falls, Ontario leading, hopefully, to new silicone structures after the controlled descent of the reaction coordinate.
