Abstract
In the following article the questions of the development of regulative universal learning activities in the Elementary Montessori school are concerned. The author notes the connection of these universal learning activities to the operation of executive functions as the higher cognitive processes which are actively studied in the western neuroscience nowadays. In the article there are provided the references to the American and Canadian studies, which point out that Primary and Elementary Montessori schools have benefi cial infl uence on the executive functions. This fact allows us to suggest that the formation of the regulative universal learning activities will be more eff ective with the ultimate use of the executive functions.
