Dans Cinéma I , et II , Deleuze propose un commentaire étonnant du premier chapitre de Matière et mémoire . Il perçoit chez Bergson une théorie innovante du dynamisme intrinsèque des images qui pourrait fonder non seulement une philosophie du cinéma, mais encore une ontologie inédite. Tout se passe comme si Deleuze, dans le sillage de Bergson, voyait dans le 7 e art non pas tant l’occasion d’une réflexion esthétique que l’occasion d’une pensée renouvelée de l’immanence. Nous tentons ici de rendre compte de la portée et des limites de cette interprétation deleuzienne.
