Abstract
Les enfants placés sous la protection de la jeunesse ont pour la plupart vécu des expériences traumatiques avec leurs parents. Le développement identitaire de ces enfants, tout autant que la formation des représentations de l’autre, sont souvent influencés par ces premières expériences relationnelles. Cet article présente d’abord différents concepts liés à la théorie des relations d’objet, qui porte sur la construction des représentations internes de soi et de l’autre. Ensuite, il met ces notions en lien avec les traumas relationnels précoces vécus par les enfants en situation de placement. Enfin, il aborde les avantages liés à l’utilisation du jeu libre comme méthode d’évaluation de la qualité des relations d’objet et illustre ces avantages avec quelques exemples cliniques.
