Abstract
Cet article cherche à montrer comment les réappropriations heideggérienne et arendtienne de la pensée d’Aristote s’articulent autour d’un travail de réinterprétation de la double définition de l’être humain comme être pratique, soit comme zôon logon echon et zôon politikon . Nous soutenons qu’en revisitant les notions qui composent et circonscrivent cette définition — celles de vie ( zôê, bios ), de logos , de production ( poiêsis ), d’action ( praxis ) et de contemplation ( theôria ), Heidegger et Arendt caractérisent le propre de l’homme en exploitant deux virtualités distinctes contenues à même l’ambivalent concept aristotélicien de praxis . Toutefois, en rendant floue la distinction entre l’activité ( energeia ) et le mouvement ( kinêsis ), ils exposent leur rejet de la theôria à deux difficultés — l’une concernant le caractère praxique de la theôria , l’autre concernant sa temporalité.
