Abstract
Les travaux de cartographie des dépôts quaternaires réalisés au sud du lac Mistassini dans le Bouclier canadien ont permis de découvrir 561 erratiques de formation de fer rubanée, repartis sur une aire de 11 680 km2. Ces indicateurs lithologiques appartiennent aux classes des cailloux (67,6 %), des blocs (30,3 %) et des gros blocs (2,1 %). Les erratiques semblent avoir été transportés par des courants de glace régionaux au Wisconsinien supérieur sur au moins 3 km vers le SE, le SSE et le S à partir de la Formation de Témiscamie, située dans le bassin de Mistassini. Ils ont été redistribués ensuite sur au moins 30 km par les écoulements tardifs SSO et SO.
