Abstract
Aux États-Unis, les courants évangéliques sont devenus en quelques décennies de puissants leviers et sources de pouvoir. En reconnaissant Jérusalem comme la capitale d’Israël en décembre 2017, Donald Trump satisfait son électorat, mais se réinscrit aussi au cœur du combat mondial contre le Mal. Ce n’est donc pas de la présupposée folie de sa part, mais une construction de l’esprit très ancrée et empreinte de références théologiques. L’on assiste ainsi à l’avènement d’un évangélisme politique. L’actualité récente à Jérusalem stimule l’intérêt d’une analyse concernant l’influence des protestants évangéliques sur la politique étrangère américaine.
