Face à la violence historique et à la dictature, trois auteurs de la Caraïbe, Frankétienne (Haïti), Reinaldo Arenas (Cuba, Miami), Joël Des Rosiers (Haïti, Québec), tentent d'inventer un symbole neuf. C'est du côté de l'imaginaire que l'œuvre déploie ses miroirs et ses leurres. Mais quand la langue est usée jusqu'à la trame des signifiances, jusqu'au trou du texte, c'est dans le réel de l'écriture, chaos ou vide, que l'œuvre essaie de faire renaître un son ou de sacrifier un reste : alors surgissent les plus belles surprises de ces écritures affolées et énigmatiques qu'une lecture au plus près des signifiants travaille à décrypter.
