L’éducation sexuelle spécialisée s’adresse à des élèves en situation de handicap. Dans les écoles suisses romandes, elle est dispensée par des spécialistes en santé sexuelle. Comment se fait la construction du genre, au sens du « doing gender » (West & Zimmermann, 2009) dans ces cours ? Le contenu des discours des professionnelles lors des cours dispensés auprès des filles considérées comme ayant une déficience intellectuelle a été analysé au travers de leçons filmées. Trois tendances sont révélées par cette analyse : (1) l’assignation à une catégorie de sexe lorsque l’élève ne perçoit pas son identité sexuée, (2) l’injonction à être heureuse de sa condition féminine et (3) le contrôle du genre lorsqu’une féminité jugée exacerbée constituerait un danger pour l’élève. Ainsi, les spécialistes en santé sexuelle ne soutiennent pas seulement la construction d’une féminité, mais contribuent à construire une « bonne » féminité. Ces tendances illustrent la complexité du travail des professionnelles et la difficulté pour l’éducation sexuelle spécialisée à s’extraire des normes de genre.
