O objetivo desta pesquisa é testar se existem diferenças no perfil motivacional de dois grupos de corredores de rua, com diferentes tempos de prática: grupo Adesão (até um ano de prática) e grupo Permanência (mais que um ano de prática). Para tanto, 62 praticantes de ambos os sexos e com idades entre 18 e 68 anos responderam ao Inventário de Motivos para a Prática Regular de Atividades Físicas ou Esportivas (IMPRAFE-132). Os resultados indicam que as dimensões mais motivadoras são as mesmas (Saúde, Prazer e Controle de Estresse), independente do tempo de prática, respeitando a mesma ordem. A conclusão principal é que essas são as dimensões que melhor representam os motivos de adesão e permanência à corrida de rua. As dimensões Sociabilidade e Competitividade são significativamente mais importantes para o grupo Permanência.
