Abstract
Dans cet article, l’auteur propose de mettre à profit l’historiographie existante et des sources télévisuelles et cinématographiques populaires, telles qu’Entre chien et loup et Les Tisserands du pouvoir, pour analyser les représentations de l’histoire des migrations canadiennes-françaises en Nouvelle-Angleterre au Québec après la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il appert qu’après avoir progressivement développé une identification collective distincte au cours du siècle des grandes migrations (1840-1930), les Franco-Américains ont été dépossédés symboliquement de cette distinction par l’appropriation de leur histoire dans le cadre des conflits linguistiques et identitaires du Québec de la fin des années 1980.
