El presente articulo se ocupa del concepto de critica inmanente, que es el modo de critica propio de la tradicion que abarca desde la izquierda hegeliana a la Escuela de Francfort. Se plantea la cuestion de si una forma de critica inmanente puede trascender las estructuras socio-politicas que definen un orden social o si esta condenada a realizar una mera critica interna del mismo capaz solo de reformarlo parcialmente. El articulo toma como punto de partida la posicion de A. Honneth en su ultimo libro, Das Recht de Freiheit, que puede caracterizarse como la adopcion coherente del modelo de critica inmanente aplicado al analisis social. A partir de ahi se trataran las virtualidades y los retos a los que se enfrenta tal modelo de critica.
