La sumoylation est un mecanisme conserve de modification post-traductionnelle aboutissant a l'attachement d'une petite proteine reliee a l'ubiquitine et appelee SUMO (Small Ubiquitin like MOdifier) sur les proteines cibles. Ici, nous avons utilise S. Pombe. Un organisme eucaryote unicellulaire genetiquement puissant, comme modele d'etude pour elucider le role de la sumoylation dans les processus cellulaires responsables de la maintenance de la stabilite du genome. Nous avons montre que Pli 1p est une SUMO E3-ligase de la famille Siz/PIAS impliquee dans trois fonctions cle pour la stabilite genetique: les centromeres, les telomeres et la reparation des dommages a l'ADN durant la phase de duplication du genome.
