Abstract
Le regroupement des régions initié en France en 2015 permet d’observer les processus de recomposition d’une région après trente ans consacrés à en affermir deux différentes. L’analyse de cette recomposition territoriale nous donne par conséquent l’opportunité de mieux comprendre ce qui fait une région et ce qu’elle fait, deux questions auxquelles les réponses n’étaient toujours pas tout à fait stabilisées en France. Elles se reposent désormais de façon explicite et claire et permettent également de mieux cerner les contours contemporains de l’État et des modes actuels de gouvernement. L’étude des politiques culturelles et des politiques de recherche nous montrera que cette recomposition varie beaucoup non seulement selon les politiques mais même au sein de celles-ci et doit être saisie au niveau fin des programmes et des institutions pour voir comment émerge un nouveau modèle ou se diffuse un modèle existant.
