Abstract
Le jésuite Pierre Angers (né en 1912), auteur d’une thèse remarquée sur le poète Paul Claudel, professeur de littérature, s’est signalé aussi par une vaste réflexion sur l’éducation et les exigences de la civilisation contemporaine scientifique et technique (voir texte 45). Dans ce texte de 1951, il esquisse certains thèmes qu’il développera ultérieurement. Profondément attaché à la tradition des humanités, il préconise une adaptation lucide de cette tradition pédagogique à la situation nouvelle du Canada français. L’amélioration de la préparation des enseignants constitue, à ses yeux, un élément essentiel de cette adaptation.
