Abstract
Les deux dernières décennies ont été le cadre de transformations qui ne cessent de bouleverser les systèmes productifs. Une nouvelle configuration du monde des affaires se dessine : elle est marquée par une forte incertitude, une complexité accrue et une instabilité des marchés. Avec la montée de la qualité, la différenciation des biens et services, l’application croissante des nouvelles connaissances scientifiques dans le domaine de la production et la globalisation de l’économie, la concurrence se métamorphose et se joue autrement. Ainsi, pour être compétitive, une entreprise doit offrir à un coût minimum des produits de qualité irréprochable et adaptés aux besoins différenciés et changeants des clients. Dans un tel contexte de turbulence, une turbulence amplifiée par les effets perturbateurs de la récente crise financière, les pratiques traditionnelles de gestion ne sont plus en mesure de garantir une amélioration durable de la performance. En effet, gérer suivant le modèle taylorien-fordien est contre-productif. La rigidité technique, la surspécialisation et l’usage uniforme de la force de travail ne permettent pas à l’entreprise de répondre adéquatement et avec efficacité aux exigences variées et volatiles du marché.
