Abstract

Cet article présente un dispositif de développement professionnel auquel des enseignantes québécoises de maternelle 4 ans ont participé. Échelonné sur une période de deux ans, le dispositif de développement professionnel visait à susciter une pratique réflexive des enseignantes quant à la qualité des interactions dans leur classe. À partir d’observations menées en classe à l’aide de l’outil d’observation Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) et de leur participation à une communauté de pratique, elles ont pu analyser plusieurs aspects de leur pratique professionnelle afin de bonifier la qualité des interactions dans la classe (adulte-enfant et enfant-enfant). Au terme de chacune des deux années du projet, une amélioration de la qualité des interactions en classe a été constatée. Les gains les plus importants sont survenus pour deux des dix dimensions du CLASS, soit la prise en considération du point de vue de l’enfant et le développement de concepts. Le type de démarche expérimentée ouvre la voie à d’autres initiatives visant à favoriser une pratique réflexive et à hausser la qualité de l’éducation préscolaire offerte aux jeunes enfants.
