Le paradoxe de Facebook est d’être à la fois une entreprise cotée au NASDAQ à un prix très spéculatif et devenue en dix ans un quasi-service public. De plus, chaque utilisateur consent à laisser la société exploiter son activité en ligne pour doper son offre publicitaire et devenir extrêmement rentable. L’écosystème Facebook incarne un capitalisme cognitif devenu plus puissant que bien des États. La question actuelle est de savoir si cette entreprise saura gérer les responsabilités mondiales que lui confère sa position unique pour articuler une pensée cohérente au vingt-et-unième siècle. Tel est l’enjeu du texte récemment diffusé par Mark Zuckerberg, Building Global Community. Cette première contribution expose les intentions exprimée au début de 2017 par le fondateur de Facebook.
